Grassmarket

If you take yourself on a wander to Old Town, Edinburgh, you may find yourself stumbling upon the popular Grassmarket neighbourhood.

The Grassmarket in Edinburgh has been the home of many City gatherings for over five hundred years. Amongst this historical street are a few popular pubs and restaurants, each with its own unique backstory. The Smallest pub in Scotland, also known as The Wee Pub. This tiny pub holds a maximum of 20 people in its walls and is a fantastic venue to grab a refreshing pint. Another famous pub along the stretch is The Last Drop, which legend says is the spot the condemned men would go to enjoy their final meal before meeting their fate.

Another famous spots on this lane are Granny’s Green Steps, a beautiful lawn below the castle where locals often sit to enjoy their lunches. When staying in the Grassmarket, it is crucial to take in the sights and offerings of the weekly market hosted there. The market is a great spot to scout out some local hidden gems, including Chulo’s stuffed cookies, which are known for their indulgent bakes.

Located at the top of Grassmarket, just off Victoria Street, this cobbled street is home to one of the city’s most popular markets. It’s also the homestead of our wonderful Grassmarket View Apartment. One of our favourite Edinburgh Apartments.

Located in West Bow, just a few steps from the famous street, it sits at the bottom of Victoria Street, putting you in the heart of some of the city's most famous spots. This perfectly placed one-bedroom apartment has all the amenities you need to make the most out of your stay, including a modern kitchen, dining area and spacious bedroom. The modern, immaculate bathroom is also complete with a bath and a walk-in shower for maximum serenity.
