Food

Try out The Ox just off Broughton Street for a relaxed, welcoming dining experience. Sample some of their authentic Scottish food, including their Chicken Balmoral or Scottish Oysters, for a unique pick.

Located just a short walk from where you stay is Gautam’s Nepalese Restaurant. This fine-dining Nepalese and Indian cuisine showcases generational recipes in the heart of Edinburgh’s Meadowbank.

Edinburgh Street Food is a great spot for those who feel indecisive or fancy a bit of everything. This Street Food venue is an order-at-the-table venue showcasing a range of local cuisines from Italian to Japanese - great for all dietary requirements.

Explore

In a historic city like Edinburgh, you are spoiled for choice when it comes to exploring the cobbled streets. That's why we've picked some of our favourites, ensuring you don't miss the highlights.

Calton Hill

Calton Hill with the city of Edinburgh behind

Calton Hill is located in the heart of the city, looking over the cobbles and its bigger sister: Arthur’s Seat. The iconic hill is home to many monuments and sculptures, including the Nelson Monument, which boasts of its telescope-inspired architecture. Another hidden gem is The Calton Cafe, a new brunch hotspot located on Calton Hill with views of the city.

Holyrood Park

Arthur's Seat in Edinburgh Scotland

Holyrood Park is home to one of Edinburgh’s seven hills: Arthur’s Seat, giving beautiful views of the city below. This hill takes approximately 40 minutes to reach its peak, with varying pathway difficulty. Make sure to wear some comfy shoes and bring a good camera to capture the views.

Alternatively, take a minute’s walk from the park, grab yourself a tasty chicken sandwich, drink from Toast Tea and reward yourself with a picnic with a view. Toast Tea is a popular Asian Sandwich bar known for its delicious chicken sandwiches. They offer both meat and veggie versions, equally as delicious as each other.

Entertain

When it comes to entertainment in the city, the list is truly endless - but here are some of our favourites, guaranteed to enhance your stay with us.

  • Toppings & Company Bookstore - One of the city’s most famous bookstores, known for its beautiful ladders. Grab a book and enjoy a complimentary drink as a reward.

  • Edinburgh Playhouse - A fantastic venue to watch local performances, celebrity speakers and unforgettable theatre.

  • National Portrait Gallery - Known for its beautiful interior and centrepiece balcony. This free exhibition is a great way to spend time in the city.
