The Best Pubs To Watch The Six Nations in Edinburgh

The Six Nations is well underway in the City of Edinburgh, and many locals will be heading to Murrayfield to watch some of the games. If you don’t find yourself as lucky, we’ve compiled a list of some of our favourite pub stops for you to enjoy the match.

Malones

Located in the West End of Edinburgh, not too far from our Haymarket Apartments, is Malones. Malones is one of the most popular pubs in Edinburgh for pints, live music and of course, sport. Being in the heart of the West End means you’ll be getting the full local experience, with many heading to watch the game at Murrayfield when it is hosted there.

The bar had access to four 4K screens and projectors across both of its floors, creating a unique atmosphere for watching the game. With the pub being famously Irish, they, of course, they have Guinness on tap. Or if you prefer, they also have Tank Tennents freshly poured on demand.

The pub also has two fantastic vendors at its Edinburgh location. 

  • Pizza Geeks - Freshly made pizzas for all year round. They offer classic pizza toppings as well as uniquely themed toppings surrounding games, films & pop culture.

  • Ola Kala - An award-winning restaurant famous for their Greek Gyros and Souvlaki.

Teuchters

Teutcher’s has two locations in the City, one in the West End of Edinburgh and Leith, if you fancy a trip away from the city centre. This cosy atmosphere makes it the perfect location to watch the game in a unique setting. While the top floor offers a local traditional pub, Head down to the bunker for a table and a good spot by the TV.

This pub is also child-friendly, allowing children until 10 pm outside of the immediate bar area. If you’re lucky enough to be heading to the game, grab yourself a pint pre or post-game with only a short walk to the tram that will take you directly to the stadium.

The Three Sisters

This fantastic pub, located in Cowgate, is housed in a former historic brewery site famed for its non-stop party atmosphere.

While you’ll often find live performances in this venue, particularly during the Fringe Festival, it’s also a great spot to watch the game amongst the other supporters.

The venue often hosts ticketed events for upcoming rugby games and events so make sure to check ahead of time.

The Queens Arms

Located on Frederick’s Street, The Queens Arms offers a traditional atmosphere in the heart of the city centre.

Not only does this pub hold an abundance of Scottish Heritage, it also hosts every game of the Six Nations.
