Bruntsfield
Bruntsfield is an upmarket, mainly residential area that is full of excellent independent restaurants, bakeries, patisseries, coffee shops and bars. Some have likened its similarity to the neighbourhood of Stockbridge located on the adjacent end of the city.
Within this neighbourhood, you will find an abundance of hidden gems that you would perhaps miss in the hustle and bustle of Edinburgh city centre. One of our personal favourites includes Margot, a popular local wine café with seasonal food and an iconic minimalistic interior. Treat yourself to a deluxe French Toast and a fresh iced tea of your choosing.
Bruntsfield is, of course, known for its independent stores, and one of its best-kept secrets includes Halibut & Herring, showcasing a wide variety of handmade crafts and local artistry. As you wander further down the neighbourhood, you may also perhaps spot the iconic Blackford Hill overlooking the streets below. Blackford Hill is best known as one of Edinburgh's seven hills, including Calton Hill and, of course, Arthur's Seat.
To end your wander just on the outskirts of Morningside, you may stumble across an old-fashioned cinema known as The Dominion Cinema. The iconic cinema housed in a renovated theatre offers a premium experience to your usual trip to the pictures.
Just a 25-30 minute walk from this hotspot, you will return to the cobbles of Old Town or the city centre. However, if you fancy a shorter trip, we recommend staying with us at Adam Drysdale House. Adam Drysdale, located a short distance from both Bruntsfield and Morningside, offers the perfect solution for a short trip to the city. Our suites can house 1-2 guests each with a private bathroom and a modern bedroom.
Alternatively, if you prefer to be in the hustle & bustle of Old Town, we have a range of unique individual stays for you to choose from. Curate the perfect stay for you. Whichever apartment you choose, we include a bespoke guidebook with all of our top recommendations for your selected area of the city.
Bruntsfield is packed with indie coffee shops, brunch spots and restaurants, so there is something there to suit everyone's tastes.
