Dean Village

This picturesque, historic village, located on the Water of Leith is a little oasis, just 10 minutes walk from the city centre. In the past the village housed various mills and the iconic 18th century building Well’s Court, which used to house the mill workers, is located here. Follow the walkway along the Water of Leith to reach impressive Dean Bridge. The Gallery of Modern Art is just a short walk from the village. You can also take a wander along the river down to Stockbridge where you will find countless artisan bakeries, coffee shops, gastropubs, restaurants, and independent shops. 

Take a stroll along the Water of Leith to Lannan bakery to pick up some legendary croissants for breakfast and grab arguably the best coffee in town at Fortitude. Or walk up Bell’s Brae to the West End and head to Panda & Sons or The Voyage of Buck for cocktails.
